■  Practice Manager and Oral Hygienist

Besides being a fully-qualified Oral Hygienist, Dominique also takes charge of all management duties, schedules, marketing, PR and advertising at Microdent.

After completing High School, Dominique decided to pursue her passion for Classical History and Archaeology at the University of Cape Town. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Archaeology, and decided to take some time off to travel.

A 5-month American working visa led her to the snowy slopes of Deer Valley International Ski Resort in the USA, where she learnt all about effectively managing a reception and visitor information area.

Back in South Africa she decided to trade fossils for floss, and successfully completed her Diploma in Oral Health (Summa Cum Laude) at the University of the Western Cape. She also continued to better her skills by attending several dentistry-related courses and workshops.
 

After being a Dental Nurse for over 4 years, two of which were at well-established surgeries in London, she returned home in January 2006 to a position as an Oral Hygienist and Clinical Co-ordinator at a large dental practice in Cape Town. She then joined Microdent in order to involve herself more in research and the managerial side of the business.

In her spare time, Dominique loves to read, watch old movies, go to the theatre and ballet and visit art galleries locally and abroad. She still has a great interest in classical history and Archaeology and enjoys horse riding, sailing and dancing.
